Fall is in the air....................

We are finally getting some cooler weather and a little rain and things are looking better in the garden.

The Maximillian Sunflowers are starting to bloom, we have one Cinderella pumpkin, and the green beans are about a foot tall.

The small nursery in Junction is selling pumpkins to benefit the CASA program to purchase Christmas presents for the kids in the program and they have some beautiful pumpkins and gourds. I went into town and got a few to decorate the porch.

A couple of weeks ago we had a small amount of rain. The clouds were beautiful, although we had a lightning strike down the road and a fire. Fortunately, our neighbors saw it and called it in and it was put out before it caused a lot of damage.

  1. I'm so thankful that you have had some rain and some relief from the heat. We take our rain for granted up north, but when I watch the news at night and they talk about the drought and fires in your region...I think of you. Funny, I don't know you but I enjoy your blog so much, I feel like you are a friend. Take care and have a happy Fall!

  2. Awesome picture of the dark clouds. It's raining in North Texas right this very moment. Maybe we won't have to go to stage 3 rationing now.

  3. YAY! I'm so glad you got some rain! I've been praying for Texas for months- and I check your blog daily because I know you will let us know if you finally have some relief.
    Whew.
    Your porch looks darling.
Some day I want a small house like yours. It's just too hard to sell my big one right now!
    Take care.
